About THMT Sub-Symposium on CRF

THMT-27 features an important sub-symposium on CRF, which brings together researchers and practitioners working on topics of combustion, chemically reacting flows, propulsion, IC engines and gas turbines, soot, spray and droplets, fuels, and low emission technologies.

The topics of the sub-symposium include, but are not limited to:

  • Theories of combustion and chemically reacting flows, and reaction kinetics
  • Experimental measurements, modern sensor technology and diagnostics
  • Numerical simulation and modelling of CRF: DNS, LES, (U)RANS, PDFs, particles and Lagrangian approach, machine learning, high-order methods
  • Fuels, sprays and droplets
  • Soot, PAH, and other large molecules: formation, growth, and destruction
  • Laminar and turbulent flames
  • Low-emission combustion technologies
  • Explosions and supersonic combustion
  • Propulsion: ignition, emission, heat and mass transfer
  • Forest fire, building fire, and urban/wildland fire safety
